Beyond Streaming: Why Artists Are Switching

Traditional distribution is broken. You upload, they profit. Here is what the industry does not tell you — and how Artyfile changes the equation.

Algorithmic Obscurity

Upload to Spotify via aggregators, get zero streams. You become a ghost in the machine — one of 100,000 new tracks per day, fighting for algorithmic favor that never comes.

Curated Marketplace Exposure

Artyfile distributes to streaming platforms AND a premium sync marketplace. Plus, your music is featured on Artyfile Stream — where every play pays 10× more.

Financial Stagnation

1,000 Spotify streams earn approximately €3–4. For 99% of artists, it is mathematically impossible to sustain a career on streaming alone.

High-Yield Revenue Streams

Artyfile Stream pays €0.03–€0.20 per stream. A single sync license (€96.90) equals roughly 25,000 Spotify streams. Real income, not pocket change.

Advances That Own You

Labels offer advances in exchange for your masters and years of recoupment. Distributors offer nothing at all. Either way, your biggest asset — your catalog — earns you no capital.

Fan Money, No Recoupment

Optionally offer up to 20% of a track as numbered Fan Limited Edition shares. Your fans become co-owners, you receive 85% of every sale upfront — up to €1,188 per track — and never pay anything back.

Subscription Anxiety

Annual fees to DistroKid or TuneCore mean you are renting your own legacy. Stop paying? Your music vanishes from platforms.

One-Time Payment Model

Pay once — €9.90 per track — for worldwide distribution that never expires. No recurring rent. Your digital footprint is permanent.

How Artyfile Distribution Works

Three steps from submission to global release. No gatekeepers. No hidden fees. Complete transparency.

  1. 1

    Submit Your Track

Send your original song (MP3 for review), artist bio, and contact details. Our A&R team evaluates quality and originality. Active online presence required.

  2. 2

    Pick Your Channels

Upon acceptance, submit your studio-quality WAV, metadata, and artwork — then choose where your music lives: Artyfile Stream, the sync marketplace, worldwide DSP distribution, or all three. Your release, your call.

  3. 3

    Global Release

Your music goes live on the channels you chose — up to 150+ streaming platforms, Artyfile Stream (with 10× payouts), and our sync licensing marketplace. Quarterly transparent payouts.

Turn Fans Into Co-Owners. Without Giving Up Control.

Labels buy your masters. Crowdfunding sells promises. Artyfile opens a third way: offer up to 20 numbered shares of a track — 1% each, €69.90 per share — to the people who already love your music. You decide if, when, and how many.

Every share is recorded in the Artyfile ownership register — like a fine-art publisher keeps the edition register of a numbered print run. Your fans get a personal ownership certificate and quarterly payouts on their share. No wallet, no crypto, no blockchain. You receive 85% of every sale, upfront — up to €1,188 per track — with nothing to recoup, ever.

  • You always keep at least 80% — and every creative decision
  • Numbered shares, personal PDF certificates, public edition register
  • 85% of every share sale goes to you, paid out directly
  • Entirely optional — off by default, activated only by you

Why Serious Artists Choose Artyfile

No Subscription Tax

Pay once — €9.90 per track — and distribute forever. Unlike aggregators that charge annually, Artyfile is a single investment, not a perpetual rent on your own music.

100% Your Masters

Your master rights stay entirely yours, on a plain-language contract. Ownership is non-exclusive — you can license, sample, and leave anytime. We never take a share of your rights.

Fans as Co-Owners

Optionally sell up to 20 numbered edition shares per track to your fans. Upfront capital without advances, recoupment, or giving up control — a deal no traditional distributor offers.

Artyfile Stream Access

Your music automatically enters our Hi-Fi streaming platform with 10×–66× higher per-stream payouts. The Patronage system rewards quality over quantity.

Sync-First Strategy

Your music enters a curated marketplace where filmmakers and agencies actively license. One sync placement can equal years of streaming revenue.

Global Reach

Distribute to 150+ platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, YouTube Music, Deezer, TikTok, Instagram — plus exclusive Artyfile Stream access.

Artyfile transformed how I think about distribution. My music earns more per stream on Artyfile Stream than anywhere else, the sync marketplace opened doors I could not access before — and my masters never left my hands. That is exactly what this industry needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Artyfile?+

Artyfile is a pay-once music distribution platform for independent artists, producers and composers. You pay a one-time €9.90 per track — never a subscription — choose your channels (Artyfile Stream, sync licensing, and 150+ platforms including Spotify and Apple Music), and keep 100% of your master rights. Artyfile takes a flat 15% commission only on revenue it generates for you, and you can optionally offer your fans numbered Limited Edition shares of a track.

How much does Artyfile music distribution cost?+

A one-time €9.90 per track, or €39 for an album with up to 10 tracks (€3.90 per track). That is the entire upfront cost — no subscriptions, no hidden fees, no advance recoupments. Beyond that, Artyfile takes a flat 15% commission on revenue it generates for you: streaming payouts, sync licenses, and Fan Limited Edition sales. If your music earns nothing, you never pay more than the €9.90.

Do I really keep 100% of my masters?+

Yes. Your master rights remain entirely yours — Artyfile never takes ownership of your recordings, on any plan. The agreement is non-exclusive on ownership: you can license your music elsewhere, sample it, or leave. Only the streaming distribution itself runs exclusively through Artyfile while your track is active with us, which is how we collect our 15% commission at source. Your songwriting and publishing are never touched.

What exactly does the 15% commission cover?+

The flat 15% applies only to revenue Artyfile actually generates for you: payouts from streaming channels we deliver to, sync licenses sold through our marketplace, and Fan Limited Edition share sales. You keep 85% of all of it. There are no other fees — no annual renewals, no payout charges, no “platform maintenance”. For comparison: sync libraries commonly take 50%, and labels take 70–85% plus your masters.

How does the Album bundle work?+

The Album bundle covers up to 10 tracks for a one-time €39 — €3.90 per track. Every track gets the full treatment: your choice of channels (Artyfile Stream, sync marketplace, 150+ platforms), 100% master ownership, and optional Fan Limited Editions per track. One A&R review covers the whole record.

What are Fan Limited Editions — and do I have to offer them?+

Fan Limited Editions are entirely optional and off by default. If you activate them, up to 20 numbered shares of a track — 1% of the master each, at €69.90 per share — are offered to fans on artyfile.com. Each share is entered in the Artyfile ownership register with a personal PDF certificate, and holders receive quarterly payouts on their share. You receive 85% of every sale upfront — up to €1,188.30 for a fully sold edition — you always keep at least 80% of the master, and every creative and business decision stays yours.

Why a maximum of 20 shares per track?+

Two reasons. Scarcity: a numbered edition of 20 means each share is genuinely rare — like a limited fine-art print run, not a mass token sale. And responsibility: the cap keeps every edition inside the small-offering exemptions of German investment law, so fan editions stay a simple, transparent product instead of a regulated financial instrument. Fan payouts are an honest bonus of ownership, never a promised return.

How much does Artyfile Stream pay per stream?+

Artyfile Stream guarantees a minimum of €0.03 per stream — 10× higher than Spotify’s average of €0.003. Through our unique Patronage system, payouts can reach up to €0.20 per stream. When a subscriber listens to fewer tracks, their full €12 monthly artist pool is distributed across their actual listening, dramatically increasing per-stream value.

What is the Artyfile Stream Patronage system?+

The Patronage system allocates each subscriber’s full €12 artist pool to the tracks they actually listen to. Heavy listeners (400 streams/month) receive the €0.03 minimum per stream. Connoisseur listeners (60 streams/month) generate €0.20 per stream. Your music earns based on genuine engagement, not algorithmic manipulation.

Which channels can I choose for my release?+

You decide where your music lives: Artyfile Stream (our Hi-Fi app with €0.03–€0.20 per-stream payouts), the Artyfile sync marketplace (film, TV, advertising — average license €96.90), and worldwide DSP distribution to 150+ platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Deezer, TikTok and Tidal. Pick one, two, or all three — and add or change channels later.

Is Artyfile distribution better than DistroKid or TuneCore?+

It is a different deal. DistroKid and TuneCore charge ~$25 every year, forever — stop paying and your music disappears. Artyfile charges €9.90 once and takes 15% only on revenue it generates, so we are invested in your success. On top: Artyfile Stream pays 10×–66× more per stream, a curated sync marketplace is included, and you can sell numbered edition shares to fans — which no traditional aggregator offers. On pure list price per single, CD Baby ($9.99 + 9%) sits in the same bracket; we win on payout rates, sync access, and fan ownership, not by pretending to be the cheapest.

Didn’t Artyfile use NFTs and blockchain?+

We used to — and we replaced it. Artyfile’s ownership model now runs on a plain, legally robust ownership register maintained by Artyfile, with numbered shares and personal certificates: the same fan co-ownership, zero crypto. No wallets, no gas fees, no tokens. Shares recorded on a blockchain under the earlier model remain valid and are fully mirrored in the register, which is authoritative.

Can I use Artyfile if I am a member of GEMA or another collecting society?+

Yes. Your compositions stay registered with GEMA or your local collecting society as usual — Artyfile distributes your recordings and manages master and sync rights directly. Buyers license sync rights from a single source (Artyfile) and pay no additional GEMA fees on top of the license. Your writer royalties keep flowing through your society, untouched by our commission.

What happens if I stop paying? Will my music be removed?+

There is nothing to stop paying. Artyfile uses a one-time payment model: your €9.90 (or €39 album) fee covers permanent distribution. There are no annual renewals required to keep your music live. Your catalog remains on all your chosen channels — including Artyfile Stream — indefinitely.

How do I get accepted into Artyfile distribution?+

Artyfile maintains quality curation through an A&R review process. Submit your original song (MP3 for initial review), artist biography, and contact information — applying is free. We evaluate quality and originality; an active online presence (website, Instagram) is required. Upon acceptance, submit your studio-quality WAV and pay the one-time €9.90.

Is there an artist dashboard or portal? How does artist management work after acceptance?+

Yes — once your application is accepted, we set up a personal login for your Artist Dashboard. There you always have self-service access to your streaming numbers over time, the status of each track (live, in review, draft, takedown), and your royalty statements per period with gross/net and payout status. What still runs through direct contact with our team by email rather than self-service: changing your channels after the fact, and submitting new tracks or assets. You choose your channels during the application, but can add or change them anytime afterwards — just email us.
