What does music distribution cost at Artyfile?
€9.90 per track or €39 for an album of up to 10 tracks, paid once. Your music stays live without any yearly fee. You keep 100% of your master rights. Artyfile takes a flat 15% only on revenue it generates for you — streaming, sync licenses and Fan Limited Edition sales. If nothing earns, you owe nothing beyond the one-time fee.

What the 15% applies to — and what it does not
The commission is how Artyfile earns money: only when you do. It applies to revenue that runs through Artyfile and nothing else.
- ✓Streaming payouts from Artyfile Stream and the platforms we deliver to: you receive 85%.
- ✓Sync licenses sold through the Artyfile marketplace: you receive 85%.
- ✓Fan Limited Edition sales, if you switch them on: you receive 85% of every sale, upfront.
- ✓Not included: your songwriting/publishing income, gigs, merch, or anything you license yourself outside Artyfile.
Honest note: distributors with a yearly subscription such as DistroKid take 0% commission. If you release a lot of music and expect high streaming income, a subscription can work out cheaper for you. Artyfile is built for artists who want their catalogue to stay online without paying rent on it every year.
The 5-year math
Example: you release one album of 10 tracks and two singles over five years. Fees only, before any commission.
| Artyfile | Subscription distributor (~$24.99/year) | |
|---|---|---|
| Year 1 | €39 (album) + €19.80 (2 singles) = €58.80 | ~$24.99 |
| Years 2–5 | €0 | ~$99.96 |
| Total after 5 years | €58.80 | ~$124.95, and it keeps running |
| If you stop paying | Nothing changes — there is nothing to stop | Releases are taken down unless you buy a legacy add-on |

Pricing questions
Do I pay to apply?
No. Applying is free. You pay the one-time fee only after your track has been accepted in the A&R review.
Is there a yearly fee?
No. €9.90 per track or €39 per album is the only fee. Your music stays online without any renewal.
Why does Artyfile take 15% if I already paid?
The one-time fee covers onboarding and delivery. The 15% applies only to revenue Artyfile generates — streaming, sync and Fan Limited Edition sales — so Artyfile earns when you earn. Your songwriting and publishing income is never touched.
When and how often do I get paid?
Monthly. Artyfile pays out your 85% share once your balance reaches €50; smaller amounts carry over to the next month.
Is Artyfile cheaper than CD Baby?
No — CD Baby charges $9.99 per single, the same price bracket as €9.90, and its 9% commission is lower than our 15%. Artyfile differs through its sync marketplace, Artyfile Stream payouts of €0.03–€0.20 per stream and optional Fan Limited Editions. For albums CD Baby is cheaper too: $14.99 for 2–50 tracks versus €39 for up to 10 at Artyfile.
What happens to my music if I leave?
You own 100% of your masters and can leave. Ownership is non-exclusive; only streaming distribution runs exclusively through Artyfile while a track is active.
